🌿 Frequently Asked Questions
Reclaiming Her Voice: A Women’s Pilgrimage to Southern France
❓ What is the purpose of this pilgrimage?
This pilgrimage is a sacred journey rooted in spiritual lineage, contemplation, and embodied practice. It supports women in reclaiming voice, inner authority, and connection to feminine spiritual tradition through the landscapes associated with Mary Magdalene, Martha, and Anne.It is held with depth, care, and intention.
❓ Do I need to be Catholic, Christian, or religious to participate?
No. While the pilgrimage honors Christian sacred sites and traditions, it is contemplative, inclusive, and spacious. Women from many spiritual paths — and those who do not identify with a formal religion — are welcome. Reverence, openness, and a willingness to listen inwardly matter most.
❓ Do I need prior knowledge of Mary Magdalene or theology?
No prior study is required.
Some women arrive with years of engagement with Mary Magdalene’s story; others feel drawn through prayer, art, story, or a quiet inner knowing they cannot fully explain. Curiosity and openness matter far more than expertise.
❓ What will our days together feel like?
Our days move between shared experience and personal space. There will be guided site visits, gentle teaching, reflection, and ritual — alongside unstructured time for walking, resting, journaling, prayer, or simply being with the land. Listening inwardly is as central to this pilgrimage as gathering together.
❓ Is this a physically demanding journey?
The pilgrimage includes walking through towns and sacred sites, as well as one significant uphill forest ascent to La Sainte-Baume. The terrain is uneven and requires moderate stamina.
The pace is respectful and unhurried, with attention to rest and integration. Women are encouraged to honor their bodies and move in ways that feel supportive and true.If you have physical concerns, please share them during your inquiry so we can discern together.
❓ Will there be silence?
Yes — at times there will be gentle and intentional focused room for silence. At certain sacred sites, including La Sainte-Baume and the Orthodox Monastery, time will be held in quiet presence. These pauses support reflection, integration, and deeper listening.
❓ How large is the group?
The pilgrimage is intentionally limited to 11 participants, traveling with two guides.
This small circle allows for intimacy and attentiveness, while honoring each woman’s pace and unfolding experience.

❓ How does the inquiry and discernment process work?
Participation begins with a Pilgrimage Inquiry, not immediate registration.
After you request the itinerary:
-
You are invited to read and reflect at your own pace
-
Jeanne will personally respond
-
In many cases, a brief conversation is scheduled
-
If aligned, you will be invited to complete a short application and receive next steps
This process supports mutual discernment and protects the integrity of the group.
❓ How will I know if this pilgrimage is right for me?
You do not need absolute certainty to begin the inquiry process.
If something in you feels drawn — even gently — that is enough to explore further. Reading the full itinerary, asking questions, and having a brief conversation often brings clarity.Discernment includes both intuition and practicality.
There is space for both here.
❓ Who might this pilgrimage not be a good fit for?
This pilgrimage may not be supportive if you are seeking:
-
A fast-paced tour
-
A purely academic experience
-
Constant structure without space for reflection
-
A group experience that does not require personal responsibility
